Ingredients
Ingredients
Uva Ursi Leaf Extract
- The medicinal portion is the dried leaves, which contain arbutin, methylarbutin, flavonoids, allantoin, tannins, organic acids, volatile oils, resins and others.
- Arbutin is converted in the alkaline urine to hydroquinone, a potent disinfectant.
- Positive Commission E Monograph for inflammatory disorders of the urinary tract- with confirmed antibacterial activity.
- Antimicrobial activity against: E.coli, Enterobacter, Helicobacter pylori, Klebsiella, Shigella sonnei, Shigella flexneri, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Berberine Hydrochloride Hydrate
- Berberine concentrates in the bladder upon ingestion of Goldenseal.
- Berberine sulfate blocks the adhesion of uropathogenic E. coli by suppressing the synthesis and assembly of adhesionmolecules (fibriae).
Marshmallow Root
- Used traditionally for its soothing demulcent properties. As the urinary tract lining is inflamed during infection, this activity is likely to soothe these membranes.
Bladderwrack Leaf
- Perennial seaweed found along the shores of Europe and America. It has been used for conditions associated with the bladder, although its name is probably derived from the bladder-like vesicles along its fronds.
- Bladderwrack has been used historically as a diuretic as well as for cases of cystic irritations and chronic inflammations of the bladder.
Celery Seed Extract
- Celery belongs to the same family (umbelliferae) as carrots, parsley and fennel. While most people associate celery with its stalks, celery seed has been used for centuries and still is today for its soothing, cleansing, diuretic and antiseptic qualities.
- Celery seed contains a number of constituents that have antibacterial properties. It also is a diuretic, which increases urine output to clear bacteria from the urinary tract.
- An extract of the seed from celery (Apium graviolens), and fractions thereof, have been found to possess anti-inflammatory activity, gastro-protective activity, and anti-Helicobacter pylori activity.
